International Youth Regatta
Club Náutico de San Juan celebrates an International Youth Regatta with a regular attendance of more than 45 youth-adults from Puerto Rico and abroad. They compete in the following classifications: Optimist, Laser, and Snipe.
In 2009, 45 participants sailed in the San Juan Bay from four participating countries: Brasil, United States, US Virgin Islands, and British Virgin Islands.
The Sailing Program has the full support from the Puerto Rico Sailing Federation (Federación de Vela de Puerto Rico), and other groups like the Laser Association, Puerto Rico Optimist Dinghy Association, and the Puerto Rico Snipe Class Association, among others.

Club Náutico de San Juan’s Sailing Program promotes confidence, awareness, and a safety-first mentality on a boat. Through our Program, we are constantly motivating students, nautical fans and athletes to commit to the sport and continue their sailing experience throughout their lives.
The Sailing Program is comprised of different-level classes for kids and adolescents, and we encourage both: a competitive and a leisure attitude towards this discipline. It works both in summer and throughout the school year, and we strive to motivate students that sailing is a way of life.
We are seeing results!!! In 2008, Puerto Rico won the Optimist World Championships celebrated in Turkey.
